Bear With Me

This is one of the reasons to always carry your compact digicam around :) I happened to have lunch at a nearby A&W Restaurant when the friendly orange bear made its appearance. I quickly took a snap of him, and he cordially shook my hand in gratitude.

My Lunch Break

Once in a while, my office friends and I would sneak out to have a long lunch getaway! This time we ventured out to Sunway Pyramid and had some Japanese food at Sushi Groove. It was delicious, of course. Later, we strolled and checked out the shopping complex and had some coffee and tea at Zen of Secret Recipe. Life is good :)

My Car Repaired and Resprayed

My VW GTi was ready to be fetched from the workshop in the afternoon. They did an excellent job especially in getting rid of the dent and scratches, and putting the bumper back to it's original curve. However, the red paint job is a little lighter than the original colour. Overall, I'm happy that the damaged eyesore had been removed.

Officemates Reunion

My old officemates from the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) department had our first reunion get-together. This was my first working place, immediately after I graduated from London, UK. The EDP dept. had a good family spirit and we worked closely together in the various IT projects. It was fun to meet and see old faces again.

Hit and Run!

Last week my car was a victim of hit-and-run! I had parked it beside the office building when some idiot, probably while reversing out of the parking lot, had whacked my car, scratching and denting it at the rear bumper, and then doing his disappearing act. I only realised the damage when a friend told me of the incident. I had made my police report but to no avail.

Today, I sent my car for repair and repainting, to a shop recommended by Volkswagen. My car is the cheapest car in the workshop! There were mostly Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porsche's and Jaguars. Anyway, I hope it gets well by this weekend.....

Car Road Tax and Insurance Renewal

Well, every year, and this being the first renewal for my car, us car drivers have to fork out a few thousand ringgits to get our car insurance and road tax renewed. My insurance agent did the legwork once I provided them with the cheque. Now, I'm good to go for another year :)

The Underground Carpark

As a wacky start, I thought I'd showcase the underground carpark I go to everyday to park my car when I go to office. I'm not sure how many people take a series of photos of what might be a common, daily activity by car drivers :) Anyway, underground carparks can have a scary feeling about them; for a start, it's kinda dim in certain parts, there's hardly anyone in the lower floors, and it's probably quite easy for someone to mug you or steal stuff from your car. Just try to park your car where it is better lit and in a less secluded spot :-D

Apart from that, my day was rather uneventful. Managed to update my senior on project progress in the morning, and had a long-ish meeting at a corporate department in the afternoon.

Rebirth of a Wacko
