More Raya Open Houses

Well, I managed to be invited to two office organised open house events, and savoured a few dishes, like Nasi Kerabu and Top Hats. My tummy now is definitely showing and I better spend a bit more time at the gym :0

Manjalara Mosque

On route to one of my officemate's Raya open house, I stopped by this mosque for afternoon prayers. It had nice colourful stained glass windows and a small courtyard that reminded me of some of the middle-Eastern designs.

Hari Raya Open Houses

As usual, it is traditional to visit friends and relatives as part of the month-long Raya celebrations. A big one was held at my HQ office for our ICT Division, and that went well, with stage performances of songs and dance. A smaller one was held at my officemate and boss' home and the lemang and rendang there was delicious.

Wackos Night Out

My wacko friend from Down Under, Anush, came over for a working trip, so we invited her out for a Saturday dinner and dance! We had Portuguese dishes at Asian Heritage Row and then later went to Crowne Plaza Hotel to dance to hip-hop music.

VW GTi Service

My car was due for its second maintenance service, which is at its 30,000km interval. All went well at the Volkswagen Service Centre in PJ, and then I sent my car for wheel balancing and alignment, at my usual workshop in TTDI. They found two nails in my rear tyre, which they repaired by patching, but other than that, my car was in tip top condition.....

Wedding Bells After Raya

My boss' other son got married and I was invited to be the photographer.  This time it was the main ceremony (akad nikah) so it was a rather important event. It took place at the bride's home, and the proceedings went along smoothly.

Visiting Relatives During Raya

Part of the festivities is to go visit relatives. So my mum and I drove to my auntie's and cousin's home. The house was recently renovated so it looked quite nice.

Hari Raya in Penang

This year my mum wanted to escape from the typical Raya duties of cooking and entertaining guests, so we drove to Penang Island and stayed there for a few days at a beach hotel. It was a good getaway although we experienced persistent rain.
